Delicate, friable cookies will be a great gift for those with a sweet tooth!
It is necessary
- For 60 pieces:
- - 900 g flour;
- - 2 tsp baking powder;
- - 250 g butter;
- - 120 ml of milk;
- - 220 g of sugar;
- - 2 tsp vanilla extract;
- - 4 eggs;
- - 800 g of icing sugar;
- - 4 tablespoons lemon juice.
Instructions
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees and prepare the baking sheet by covering it with baking paper.
Step 2
Mix flour with baking powder and sift through a sieve into a convenient large bowl.
Step 3
Add slightly softened butter and grind everything to make a crumb.
Step 4
Pour the milk into a small saucepan, add sugar and place on the stove. Heat, stirring occasionally, until sugar dissolves. Remove from the burner, cool slightly.
Step 5
Pour the milk-sugar mixture to the butter-flour mixture and knead into a soft dough.
Step 6
Lightly dust the work surface with flour. Pinch off a teaspoon from the dough and roll each into a "sausage" a little more than 10 cm in length. Then weave two sausages together and connect the ends: you should get "wreaths", as in the picture.
Step 7
Transfer the cookie cutters to a baking sheet and spread out at a short distance from each other. Put in the oven for about 18-20 minutes. Then transfer the cookies to cool on the wire rack.
Step 8
While the cookies are baking, prepare the lemon frosting. To do this, mix lemon juice with powdered sugar until smooth, and then heat the mixture in a low-boiling water bath.
Step 9
Pour lemon icing over the finished cooled cookies. If desired, you can also use various confectionery powders for decoration!
