  • 1 tsp dry yeast;
  • 1 egg;
  • a pinch of salt.

How to make pumpkin buns: a step by step recipe

Choose a ripe pumpkin. The vegetable needs to be juicy. Remove the core, but leave the skin on for now. Steam the pumpkin or bake it in the oven. Peel and punch the vegetable with a blender into a smooth puree.

Grate the orange zest, preferably on a fine grater.

Heat the milk, but do not boil it. Pour into a saucepan and add salt, sugar. Stir well to dissolve.

Melt and then refrigerate the butter. Add it to the formula. Place the pumpkin puree and orange zest in the same place and stir.

Sift flour and add it along with yeast to the total mass. Knead the dough. It should ultimately be soft and pliable. To do this, knead the dough with your hands. Place it to rise in a warm place.

Prepare the dough site by dusting the surface with flour. Spread out the mixture and knead, only lightly. Form into balls and place on a baking sheet. It is advisable to pre-cover it with parchment paper so that the baked goods do not burn. A silicone mat can be used with similar success.

Beat the egg with a fork and grease the tops of the future buns. Along the edges of each ball, make 5-6 shallow cuts at the same distance.

Stick the almonds in the middle - it will imitate the stalk of a vegetable. Remove the skin from it first. To do this, pour boiling water over the nuts and wait at least half an hour. This allows the skins to be easily removed from the almonds under running cold water. As a result, from the "koloboks" turned out "pumpkins".
