Chutney is a traditional oriental spice. Spicy chutneys are good in meat dishes and brighten the meal with their color. Boiled chutneys are made from vegetables, fruits, and dried fruits.   • - 150 gr. dried apricots
  • - 225 gr. raisins
  • - 1/2 liter of white vinegar
  • - 2 onions
  • - 1-2 red chili
  • - 225 gr. cane sugar
  • - 2 tbsp. tablespoons of ground ginger
  • - 1 tbsp. a spoonful of ground coriander
  • - 1 tbsp. a spoonful of mustard seeds

Instructions

Step 1

Chop finely 150 gr. dried apricots and in a bowl, mix with 225 gr. raisins.

Step 2

Add 1/2 liter of vinegar and cover the bowl with cling film. Leave the dried fruit in the marinade for 6-8 hours.

Step 3

Place the contents of the bowl in a saucepan.

Step 4

Peel and finely chop 2 onions and add them to the pot as well.

Step 5

Wash 1-2 chiles, remove seeds and chop finely. Also put them in a saucepan. You can use less chili or skip it altogether if you don't like spicy foods.

Step 6

Add 225 gr. To the saucepan. cane sugar, 2 tablespoons of ground ginger, 1 tablespoon each of ground coriander and mustard seeds.

Step 7

Place the saucepan over high heat and bring the contents to a boil. Stir frequently to avoid burning.

Step 8

Reduce heat to low and cook for about 1 hour. Continue stirring frequently.

Step 9

Remove chutney from heat and cool.
