For this soup recipe, you can use both orange lentils and green lentils. The dish tastes like pea soup, only it turns out to be much softer. In addition, lentils cook faster than peas.

- For 6-8 servings:
- - 200 g of bacon;
- - 200 g lentils;
- - 1 large onion;
- - bread for croutons;
- - vegetable oil, pepper, salt.

Step 1
Pour 2 liters of water into a saucepan, bring it to a boil.

Rinse the lentils well, place in a saucepan, cook until tender - the cooking time should be indicated on the lentil bag.

Peel the onion, chop. Cut the bacon into small, thin strips.

Fry the onion in vegetable oil until it becomes translucent. Add bacon, fry until crispy.

Add bacon and onions to the lentils in a saucepan, pepper, salt to taste.

You can take ready-made biscuits for soup, but it's not difficult to cook them yourself. Cut the bread into small cubes, fry until golden brown in vegetable oil. When frying, you can add any spices or minced garlic to make fragrant croutons.
Step 7
Pour ready-made soup into soup bowls, add croutons. You can sprinkle with fresh herbs. Serve immediately, until the croutons have softened - they should crunch.
