Shrimp are members of the crustacean family. Most often, they come to store shelves frozen. Therefore, they must be boiled to be eaten. How to do it right?
Shrimps have long ceased to be a delicacy. They have become part of the diet of many people. Shrimp can be used to make various soups, salads and other dishes. They are high in protein, calcium and cholesterol. At the same time, shrimp are low in calories, and therefore are great for eating during a diet.
In order to boil the shrimp, you will need a large-capacity saucepan, water and spices. For seasoning, bay leaves or allspice peas are ideal.
Place the frozen shrimp in a colander and rinse under running cold water. This will allow them to melt a little and clear of excess ice.
Then the pot of water is put on fire. Moreover, you need to pour 3 times more water than the amount of shrimp. Salt the water and add seasoning. Then it is brought to a boil and the shrimps are lowered. The readiness of delicacies is determined by the color of their shell, which becomes transparent, and by the fact that they float to the surface.
Moreover, the cooking time directly depends on the size of the shrimp. The larger their size, the longer they should be cooked. Also, frozen shrimp may already be pre-cooked. In this case, the cooking time is halved and is no more than 3-4 minutes. Therefore, uncooked shrimp is cooked for 10-12 minutes.
After that, seafood delicacies are taken out in a colander and the excess liquid is allowed to drain. Then they are poured with any oil, for example olive oil, and served on the table. You can also prepare various dishes from shrimp.
Green Shrimp Salad
Boil the shrimps in boiling and salted water. Then peel and cut into pieces. Rinse lettuce leaves thoroughly and cut into pieces as well. Put the herbs in a salad bowl, sprinkle with salt and stir. Lay the shrimp on top, pour over sour cream and sprinkle with dill.
To prepare the salad you will need: 500 g of shrimp, 500 g of green salad, 4 tbsp. l. sour cream, dill, salt.
