Preserving vegetables, fruits, salads and other things takes a lot of time, because you need to properly prepare the fruits for preservation, rinse and sterilize the jars. However, there is a way, thanks to which you can deal with the workpieces, having spent quite a bit of time - to warm up the jars with the contents in a saucepan of boiling water.
It is necessary
- - wide and deep pan;
- - cotton towel;
- - covers;
- - tongs for removing cans;
- - vegetables, fruits, salads or other curling dishes.
Instructions
Step 1
Wash vegetables and fruits thoroughly, being careful not to leave debris on the fruits. If salads are being prepared, then pre-cook the required amount of salad and cool it slightly (to a temperature of no higher than 70 degrees).
Step 2
Wash the jars of the required volume using soda for the procedure. Check each jar for cracks and chips. Select the dishes that are completely flawless.
Step 3
Take the lids and rinse them as well, but only with dish detergent. Remember, metal lids cannot be washed with baking soda. Alternatively, you can use mustard powder for the procedure.
Step 4
Fill clean jars with ready-made salad, vegetables, fruits, herbs, spices and more. If cucumbers or tomatoes are canned, then fill them with the prepared brine. Cover the jars with the prepared lids.
Step 5
At the bottom of the pan, put a towel folded three to four times (if there is a silicone stand, it is better to use it), and put jars with blanks on it (it is important to use jars of the same volume and height). Pour water into a saucepan so that it does not reach the neck of the cans by about one centimeter. Place the saucepan on the fire.
Step 6
After boiling the contents of the cans, start the countdown until the end of sterilization. Keep jars with a volume of 0.5-0.7 liters on fire for 10-12 minutes, and 800-gram-liter jars - 15-17 minutes.
Step 7
After the time has elapsed, remove the cans from the hot water, tighten the lids, turn the cans upside down, wrap them up and leave for a day. Store the cooled blanks in a place convenient for you, be it a refrigerator or a cabinet. Workpieces sterilized in this way are perfectly stored even at room temperature.
