It is necessary

    • 500-600 g puff pastry;
    • 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil;
    • 2 egg yolks;
    • 2 hams (chicken);
    • 3 small potatoes;
    • 1 onion head;
    • 70 g butter (margarine);
    • salt and pepper (to taste).

Instructions

Step 1

This recipe for pie with potatoes is designed for a baking sheet 25 x 30 cm. First of all, you need to prepare the filling for our pie. Defrost chicken legs. For quick defrosting, they can be placed in the sink with lukewarm water. After thawing, the hams must be washed and allowed to dry.

Step 2

Separate the chicken from the skin and bones, then cut the chicken into small cubes. Peel the onion, then chop it finely (cut into rings first, turn it and do the same).

Step 3

Peel the potatoes and rinse them in cold water, cut them into small cubes and leave them in cold water for a while, otherwise the potatoes will darken.

Step 4

Put potatoes, onions and cut chicken carcasses in a prepared dish. Sprinkle salt and pepper on top, and pour 2-3 tablespoons of water on top of all this mass. Then everything must be mixed.

Step 5

Divide the slightly warm puff pastry into 2 parts: one part will be the bottom of the cake, the other part will cover the bottom of the cake. Roll the first half of the dough into a thin layer, hoping to fit on the baking sheet. Transfer the dough sheet to a greased baking sheet.

Step 6

Lay out the entire filling on a layer of dough, do not forget that 2-3 cm should be left along the edges of the dough (for the seam). Cut the butter (margarine) into pieces and scatter it all over the filling.

Step 7

Tuck the edges of the dough that remain free, then brush the edges of the dough with egg yolk (you can use a silicone brush for this). Roll out the second slice of dough and cover the filling with the second slice of dough, bringing the edges slightly closer to the rim of the pie. According to the old Slavic tradition, a hole is made in the middle of the cake, which allows the steam to come out of the cake.

Step 8

Brush the surface of the cake with egg yolk and place it in an oven preheated to 180 ° C. The pie will be ready in 30-40 minutes, the degree of doneness of the pie can be checked by the brownness of the dough.
