Step 1

Such a delicious and expensive drink like cognac requires compliance with certain conditions during its storage. You need to control 4 parameters: the tightness of the bottle, its position, as well as the light and temperature. These parameters must be taken into account when storing all alcoholic beverages.

It is best to store cognac in oak barrels, because in other conditions, its quality deteriorates, but if you cannot afford it, then it is better not to stock up on alcohol for future use, but periodically renew your stocks. Place the bottle of cognac in an upright position so that the drink does not come into contact with the cork, as cognac alcohol absorbs any odors very well.

A bottle of cognac must be tightly closed so that air does not get inside. If you plan to store a bottle of cognac for several years, then it would be wise to fill the neck of the bottle with sealing wax.

When storing wine, keep a temperature of 10-15 ° C, because high temperature accelerates the aging process and deprives the drink of freshness and delicacy, while low temperature slows down these processes. Also, avoid temperature extremes that spoil the cork and allow air to enter the wine. Store white, rosé and sparkling wines closer to the floor, while red and semi-sweet wines can be stored higher.

Observe the air humidity of 70-80% in the wine storage area, which will prevent the cork from drying out. It should be dark in the room, as bright light provokes aging of the drink. It is best to store wine in special cells or niches in the cellar.
