- sugar;
- soda;
- vinegar or lemon juice;
- starch;
- flour;
- powdered sugar;
- jam;
- yeast;
- butter;
- salt.
Instructions
Step 1
To make the dough, beat four eggs with a glass of sugar until fluffy and white. The result will be much better if you refrigerate the eggs before beating them. Add two tablespoons of potato starch to the mixture and stir gently. Sift a glass of flour through a sieve and, while continuing to stir the dough, gradually add flour into it. Quench a quarter teaspoon of baking soda with vinegar or lemon juice and mix with the dough.
Brush a wide baking sheet with margarine and pour the roll batter over it. The dough layer should not be thicker than two centimeters, otherwise the roll will be very difficult to roll. Place in an evenly preheated oven and bake for twenty minutes. Do not wait for the dough to brown. A layer of dough overexposed in the oven will not curl up, but break.
Remove the finished biscuit from the oven, quickly brush it with jam and roll it into a roll until it has cooled down. When the roll has cooled, trim the edges and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
Step 2
You can bake more than one large roll, but several smaller rolls. To do this, knead the dough from a glass of sour cream, two glasses of flour, one hundred grams of softened butter and two tablespoons of sugar. Add salt on the tip of a knife and a quarter teaspoon of slaked baking soda. Stir all ingredients.
Divide the dough into four pieces and roll out in layers no more than a centimeter thick. Lubricate the dough sheets with jam and roll them into rolls. Put the rolls on a baking sheet, put in an oven preheated to two hundred degrees and bake for twenty minutes.
Step 3
You can also make a roll with jam from yeast dough. To do this, dissolve ten grams of yeast and a tablespoon of sugar in warm water. Mix three hundred grams of flour with one hundred twenty-five grams of softened butter. Add two egg yolks and yeast to the mixture. Knead the dough and leave in a warm place for half an hour.
Peel the walnuts, chop them and mix with the jam. Roll out the dough into a thin layer, spread the filling and roll into a roll. Put the roll on a greased baking sheet, place in an oven heated to two hundred degrees and bake until golden brown.
