Spain is a promised paradise for tourists. The sun, the abundance of fruits, the beauty of the local nature, a huge number of attractions, the most interesting holidays and festivals that leave the most vivid impressions - all this is hot and hospitable Spain.

Spain is one of the three world leaders in winemaking. More than nine hundred varieties of grapes are grown in the country.

Gourmets have plenty of space here too. It is difficult to name the main features of Spanish cuisine. Indeed, there are as many as seventeen regions in the country, each of which has its own climatic characteristics, culture and, of course, culinary traditions. However, in every region of Spain, whatever its cuisine, fine Spanish wine will certainly be served on the table. And the best souvenir brought from this country will be a bottle of the most famous drink in Spain.

Wine is the most common drink in Spain. There are about sixty wine-growing regions on the territory of the country.

Sherry

Sherry is rightfully considered the most famous wine in Spain - a magnificent fortified white wine with an amazing taste. The history of the drink goes back many hundreds of years, and the preparation technology is unique.

Jerez became famous thanks to the English merchants who imported it all over the world since the 15th century.

The area where grapes are grown for the drink is only about fifty square kilometers of southern Andalusia - the region of Jerez-Jerez-Sherri and Manzanilla de Sanlucar de Barrameda. It is only here that the combination of natural factors makes it possible to grow berries, from which the famous delicious wine is obtained. And only here can genuine sherry be produced - just as genuine champagne always comes from Champagne, and cognac comes from the province of Cognac.

The peculiarities of the English language do not allow to pronounce "sherry". The British replaced "sherry" with "sherry", which became the international name for the drink.

There are many varieties of sherry. However, in fact, they all belong to two groups - Fino is the most popular type of sherry, and Oloroso is a more full-bodied and strong wine. It should be noted that only three grape varieties are suitable for the production of sherry. For Fino, only Palomino berries are used, and for Oloroso, grapes of all three varieties are suitable.

Malaga

Another well-known Spanish wine is malaga. This famous dessert wine, like sherry, comes from the province of Andalusia. Malaga is produced using a unique technology and has a completely unique taste, in which chocolate-coffee shades and balsamic notes are discernible. To the delight of connoisseurs of fine wine, Malaga is a long-lived drink. Even with a century of aging, it does not lose its qualities, but, on the contrary, becomes only richer in taste and aroma.

Malaga was the favorite drink of the Russian Empress Catherine II and her entire court.

Of course, the list of famous Spanish wines is not limited to just two names. But sherry and malaga are wines that have already become legends. Therefore, it is they who are able to most fully convey the aroma and authentic taste of Spain.
