Pasta in the form in which we are used to seeing them have been known to mankind since the 13th century. Since then, pasta has remained a dish that is cooked and served with pleasure in different countries of the world. It is not difficult to cook pasta correctly, but knowing a few secrets, the pasta will turn out to be truly delicious.
Instructions
Step 1
As you know, pasta is distinguished by a variety of types and forms, and which one to choose for cooking depends only on you. But no matter what pasta you choose, the method of preparation will remain the same.
Step 2
Take a large enough saucepan, based on at least 1000 ml of water per 100 g of pasta. For one serving, as a rule, 100 g of pasta is enough, and even if this does not seem small, because during cooking they will double. Pour water into a saucepan, put on fire, covered with a lid, and wait until the water boils.
Step 3
After the water has boiled, add a pinch of salt and place the pasta in the water. If you are cooking long pasta and want to keep it long, submerge it in water gradually - when submerged in water, it will soften and begin to bend. While stirring the pasta, wait until the water boils again - it won't take even a couple of minutes. Reduce the fire and let the pasta simmer. It usually takes 8 to 15 minutes to cook pasta, depending on the variety and your taste preferences - everyone loves different pasta: some are harder, some are softer. But in no case should the pasta be overcooked - it will turn into porridge.
Step 4
To cook pasta correctly, try them more often for readiness, starting from 7-8 minutes - this way you will not allow them to be overcooked. Finished pasta should not be tough or powdery. After tasting, you are sure that the pasta is ready, remove the pan from the heat, and pour its contents into a pre-cooked colander to drain the water that is now unnecessary.
Step 5
After draining all the water, transfer the pasta back to the pan and add 20-60 g of butter to keep it from sticking together in the pan. The butter can be replaced with a pre-cooked sauce - it all depends on your taste and what you are going to eat the cooked pasta with.
