It is necessary
-
- 250 g rice
- 250 g beef
- 250 g pork
- 1 medium onion
- 1 clove of garlic
- 1 raw egg
- 1 sweet (bulgarian) pepper
- 400 g tomato sauce or paste
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- salt to taste
- spices to taste
Instructions
Step 1
Take long grain white rice. This variety does not have its own bright aroma and absorbs meat juices well. Do not use parboiled or round grain rice. The first can remain tough, the second - turn into a mess.
Rinse the rice several times with running water until it is completely transparent. Fill with cold water. Salt a little. Boil until tender. Throw in a colander to drain excess liquid.
Step 2
While the rice is cooking, cook the minced meat. Traditionally, meatballs are made from two types of meat. Pork will add juiciness to the minced meat, and beef will add flavor. For dietary and baby food, use minced poultry meat - turkey or chicken.
Thoroughly clean the meat from films and streaks, rinse. Scroll separately in a meat grinder or chop very finely with a knife.
Step 3
Finely chop the onion and garlic. Garlic can be passed through a press, and the onion can be scrolled along with the minced meat. Cut the bell peppers into strips.
Step 4
Combine both types of minced meat, boiled rice, raw egg, onion, garlic, salt and spices to taste. Mix thoroughly.
Step 5
From the resulting mass, form balls the size of a walnut. Don't coat the meatballs in flour or breadcrumbs. In a skillet, the breading can burn quickly, giving the dish a bitter taste.
Step 6
Heat the sunflower oil in a skillet. Fry the meatballs on all sides.
Step 7
Add pepper to the pan to the meatballs. Mix everything and simmer covered for 5-7 minutes.
Step 8
Add tomato sauce and simmer for 2-3 minutes. Instead of tomato sauce, you can use broth or chicken broth. When cooking for children, simmer the meatballs in diluted sour cream or low-fat cream.
Step 9
Serve boiled rice for a side dish. You can also stew, bake, or grill vegetables. For heavy food lovers, prepare pasta or mashed potatoes.
Pour the remaining sauce over the side dish. Garnish with a sprig of herbs or a tomato wedge.
