Instructions
Step 1
Prunes, its decoctions and infusions are used medicinally as a natural laxative. Before use, sort the dried fruits, peel them of accidental impurities, stalks and rinse thoroughly in warm water. It is also recommended to keep them in hot water for a few minutes so that the preservatives sometimes used in the production of prunes are transferred to the water.
Step 2
To prepare a decoction of prunes, take 100 grams of dried fruit (the number of berries in 100 grams may vary depending on their size). When buying, give preference to dried seedless fruits, but if you purchased prunes with seeds, then they must be removed by cutting the berries with a knife.
Step 3
Place the prunes in a small saucepan and fill with two glasses (400 ml) of cold water. If necessary, add sugar to taste, but a drink prepared without sugar will be more useful, especially since the prunes themselves are quite sweet (the sugar content in 100 g of the product is 38 g).
Step 4
Bring water to a boil and remove the pan from heat. Cover with a lid and let the contents cool and brew. Strain the broth cooled to room temperature through cheesecloth or a sieve.
Step 5
prepare an infusion with the same properties. Pour a glass of boiling water over a few prunes, cover and leave to infuse for several hours (you can leave it overnight). The filtered infusion is taken as needed.
Step 6
Alternatively, make a laxative prune tea. Pour boiling water over a few washed pitted prunes for 10 minutes, then drain the water and finely chop the berries. Put 1 teaspoon of black tea and chopped prunes in a teapot or cup, pour boiling water over the mixture so that it is slightly covered with water. Let it brew for two minutes and add boiling water to the top, add a slice of lemon.
Step 7
From the prunes left over after straining the broth or infusion, you can make mashed potatoes by chopping it in a blender. Puree is used in baby food, as well as in the preparation of various desserts and sauces.
