Puerh is a specially fermented and dried tea. Most often it is sold in the form of pressed briquettes, but sometimes loose varieties are also found. It is believed that this type of tea invigorates much more than coffee and is beneficial for health.
It is necessary
- - a teapot with a capacity of 100 milliliters;
- - 10 grams of dry tea;
- - thermos;
- - strainer.
Instructions
Step 1
To improve the aroma and taste, pu-erh, sold in the form of briquettes, is washed and steamed before brewing. Separate a two to three square centimeters piece from the briquette. Pu'er lovers do this with a special knife, but you can simply break off a piece of briquette. Put the tea in a teapot and fill it with cold water. After five minutes, the water can be drained off. This removes some of the dust from the tea leaves. Boil drinking water and pour it into a thermos. Pu-erh can be brewed up to five times, so it is best to have hot water on hand for brewing and not to turn the tea into a race to the kitchen and back. Hold the steamed tea under the lid for a minute. After that, you can make the first brew.
Step 2
For the first brew, pour a portion of hot water over the tea and pour it into the cup through a strainer after five seconds. In this case, it is necessary - if particles of leaves get into the cup, the drink will turn out to be too strong and, possibly, will taste bitter. Experts recommend that the second brew should be infused for no more than two seconds. The taste and aroma of good pu-erh tea is only revealed during the second brewing. For the third brewing, you can increase the tea infusion time to ten seconds. However, be guided by your own feelings. If the taste of the previous brews seemed to you insufficiently saturated, increase the infusion time.
Step 3
Some lovers of this tea do not brew pu-erh tea, but brew it. However, in this case, the tea leaves can be used only once. In addition, this method requires some experience with pu-erh. To prepare the drink, take a transparent teapot made of fireproof glass or any utensil in which you can monitor the state of the heating water. Pour water into the kettle and put it on the fire, pour the pu-erh into cold water for a few minutes, then drain the water. When small bubbles appear at the bottom of the kettle, pour some of the water out of it. When the water is noisy before boiling, pour the water back into the kettle.
Spin the water in the teapot clockwise with a stick and pour the pre-soaked tea into this funnel. When thin threads of bubbles begin to rise from the bottom of the teapot, remove the tea from the heat and let it brew for thirty to sixty seconds. Pour the drink into cups through a strainer.
