Fytyr is an unusually delicious pie according to an oriental recipe. It is somewhat reminiscent of a delicate airy cake, as it simply melts in your mouth.

It is necessary

  • For the test:
  • 1 glass of milk
  • 1/2 tsp dry yeast or 5 grams of fresh;
  • 3 cups flour;
  • 1 egg;
  • 250 g butter;
  • Salt to taste.
  • For the cream:
  • 1 cup of sugar;
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tbsp. l. potato starch;
  • 2 glasses of milk;
  • A pinch of vanillin.

Step 1

To prepare the cream, grind the egg with starch and sugar until a white thick mass is obtained, then dilute this mixture with warm milk and, putting on a small fire, bring to a boil, stirring constantly.

Step 2

Dissolve dry or fresh yeast in warm milk and add egg, flour and salt, and then knead the dough. Divide the dough into two parts and roll each part into a layer. Lubricate the layers with soft butter. Roll each layer into a roll and twist into a "snail". Pack both snails in plastic wrap and refrigerate for about three hours.

When the "snails" are infused, you can take the cream, which has cooled to a warm state. In the original, this cream is called magalabia. Remove the dough from the refrigerator and roll it out again in two layers. The thickness of each layer should be no more than 3 mm. Put one layer of dough on a baking sheet covered with parchment, cover the layer with cream on top, flatten and cover with a second layer, so that the edges can be tucked two centimeters. Use a fork to poke the top layer in several places. Brush the cake with yolk, whipped with a little milk and place in a preheated oven for half an hour. The baking temperature should be 180 degrees.

Step 4

When the cake has a nice rosy color, remove it from the oven and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
