Many love grapes, but many housewives are in no hurry to harvest it for the winter. And completely in vain. Delicious compotes and aromatic jam are obtained from grapes. And preparing all these sweet preparations is not at all difficult.

Grape compote for the winter

Separate the grapes from the stalks, sort to remove overripe or spoiled ones, then rinse in cold water.

Prepare compote based on the following proportions: for 4 cups of berries you need to take 3 tbsp. l. sugar and 1 glass of water.

Prepare the sugar syrup, put the berries in clean jars scalded with boiling water and pour over the boiling syrup. Roll up the cans with tin lids and place them in a pot of hot water. Heat the jars, without boiling, for 20 minutes, then remove, put the lids down, wrap them up with a blanket and leave to cool completely.

Grape jam

From grapes, you can make not only wine or compote for the winter, but also make delicious and aromatic jam. The main thing is to choose sweet grapes with large berries.

In order to make grape jam, you need to take products in the following proportion:

- 5 glasses of berries;

- 4, 5 glasses of sugar;

- 2 glasses of water.

Remove the grapes from the stalks, rinse well in cold water, then dip the berries in hot water for about 1-2 minutes.

Place the berries in a colander to drain off any remaining liquid. In the meantime, make a syrup with 4.5 cups of sugar and 2 cups of water. Dip the berries in boiling syrup and simmer, systematically skimming off the foam that forms during cooking. To prevent the jam from burning, stir it with a wooden spoon.

The readiness of the jam should be determined as follows: drop a little syrup on a saucer, and if it does not spread, then the jam is ready.

Chill ready-made grape jam and transfer to pre-prepared jars. Lubricate the edges of the cans with alcohol or vodka and close with nylon caps.

Store your grape jam in a cool, dry place.
