How to make a classic "Mojito"
The classic Mojito is composed of rum, sugar, mint, lime, soda and ice. It is better to serve the drink in tall glasses and mix all the ingredients in them during preparation. However, some housewives prefer to cook it in a large transparent jug and pour it into glasses in the presence of guests.
One of the most important ingredients in a cocktail is mint. A bunch of mint must be washed and dried a little from moisture. At the bottom of each glass, put 8-10 leaves of it and rub lightly with a pestle.
Lime must be cut into 4 pieces. To prepare 1 serving of the drink, you will need 1 citrus wedge. Lime wedges can be arranged in glasses and gently kneaded with a pestle. It is not very convenient to do this, so it is better to squeeze out the juice with your hands.
Next, you need to add brown sugar to the glasses in an amount of no more than 1 teaspoon per serving. It will give the drink a specific taste. In the absence of this product, you can replace it with regular sugar.
Add 50 ml of white rum to each glass. Some lovers of "Mojito" prefer to replace rum with vodka, but this is not entirely correct. In this case, the taste of the drink changes.
Next, you need to put crushed ice in glasses. In order to grind the cubes, you need to pour them into a bag, wrap them in a towel and crush them with a hammer or rolling pin. It will take a lot of ice. It is advisable to fill glasses with them almost to the very top. In this case, it is imperative to leave several of its cubes in their entirety.
