Peroni is an Italian beer with more than 150 years of history. It all started in the town of Vigevano, which is located in Lombardy, with the founding of a small brewery back in 1846.

History of the brand

Francesco Peroni, when he started brewing beer, could not think that it would become one of the most famous in Europe, if not all over the world. He was planning a small family business that he wanted to leave to his children. Giovanni Peroni significantly expanded the family business, wishing to relocate beer production to Rome. However, this was done only in 1924, when a small factory, which was located in the city of Bari, "moved" to the capital of Italy. At the same time, a large-scale (and successful) campaign to take over competitors began, which lasted several decades.

Already in 1953, one of the largest breweries in all of Europe began work in Italy; it was built using the most modern technologies. In the following decades, three more were added to the first super-modern plant in Naples - in Rome, Bari and Padua. They still function successfully today, producing a huge number of Peroni beers that are currently known throughout the world.

World renown

In 1993, the largest American concern Anheuser-Busch signed a profitable commercial agreement with Peroni. As a result, the huge company Birra Peroni Industriale produces more than 5 million hectoliters of beer annually. This company includes four of the largest breweries.

Birra Peroni Industriale produces wonderful light lagers (a type of bottom-fermented beer that matures on storage, this is the most common type of beer in the world), a decent non-alcoholic beer and an exceptionally tasty dense two-malt Peroni Gran Riserva, which were released on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the existence of this company, and immediately became very popular. It should be noted that Peroni Gran Riserva is a fairly strong beer, but at the same time it has a mild pleasant taste.

Peroni's success in the Italian and global markets is due to its excellent value for money. The products of this company have a surprisingly balanced taste and aroma. This beer is made exclusively from winter barley, it has a pleasant golden color with a pronounced taste of malt and a noticeable aroma of hops. The foam at Peroni is not very dense, but very persistent.

Italians prefer to use it with pasta and light snacks, pre-cooled to 9–10 ° C.
