Potatoes, pasta and cereals are often served with gravy, which gives them an unusual new flavor. Throughout the history of cooking, culinary experts have come up with many types of gravy. Mushroom has a high nutritional value; it can be used as a substitute for meat gravies. Try making mushroom gravy, it's easy.
It is necessary
-
- dried mushrooms - 30 g;
- vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons;
- butter - 10 g;
- flour - 2 tablespoons;
- onions - 1 small onion;
- cream or sour cream - 3 tablespoons;
- bay leaf to taste;
- salt to taste;
- pepper to taste.
Instructions
Step 1
Rinse and soak the mushrooms for 5-6 hours, during which time they will swell and become softer, as a result of which their cooking time will be significantly reduced. Then drain the water into other dishes and rinse them again. Then fill with the water in which they were soaked, having previously filtered it through several layers of gauze. Thus, it will be possible to avoid the ingress of the remnants of the earth into the broth.
Step 2
Cook the mushrooms for 30-40 minutes over low heat until tender. Meanwhile, chop the onion finely and save in vegetable oil until translucent. Fry the flour until golden brown in another pan.
Step 3
Rinse the finished mushrooms with hot water and chop finely. Place them in a skillet with onions and fry for 10 minutes, adding butter. Dissolve the flour with warm mushroom broth to the required thickness so that there are no lumps, and boil, removing the foam.
Step 4
Combine everything in one bowl, add salt, pepper and bay leaf and cook for 5-10 minutes. You can finish cooking here if the gravy is for vegans.
Step 5
Finally add cream or sour cream, bring mixture to a boil and remove from heat. The mushroom sauce is ready, it goes well both with cereals, pasta and vegetable dishes, and with meat dishes. Pour it over the dish when serving.
