In order to prepare a hodgepodge, prepare the following foods:

- 400 g of white cabbage;

- 350 g of sausages (about 6 pcs.);

- 3 pickles;

- 2 heads of onions;

- 1 large carrot;

- 4 tbsp. l. tomato sauce;

- greens;

- salt;

- pepper.

Rinse the cabbage thoroughly to remove all dirt, remove the spoiled leaves and pat dry with a towel. Chop the prepared cabbage into thin strips. Put a deep frying pan on the fire and pour 3 tablespoons into it. sunflower oil. When the oil is warmed up, add the cabbage to the skillet. Season with salt and pepper and simmer for 10-15 minutes over low heat.

Peel and cut onions into thin half rings. Grate washed and peeled carrots on a coarse grater or cut into thin strips. Add prepared onions and carrots to a skillet with cabbage. Mix everything thoroughly and fry the vegetables until golden brown.

Dilute the tomato sauce a little with water and pour into a skillet. Mix everything and simmer for about 30-35 minutes. At this time, take the sausages and cut them into strips or small cubes. Heat 2 tablespoons in a small skillet. vegetable oil and fry the sausage in it. Peel the pickles if they are too tough. Chop up into small cubes. Put the cucumbers and sausage in a skillet with stewed vegetables. Mix everything well and simmer for another 15 minutes. Season the dish with salt and pepper. Garnish with finely chopped herbs. Green onions, dill, parsley, and basil can be used as herbs. Serve the dish in portions with fresh sour cream and bread.

Tomato sauce can be substituted with fresh tomatoes. From this, the hodgepodge will have a richer taste and aroma. In order to prepare a dish with tomatoes, first scald them with boiling water, then peel and chop into small cubes or pass through a meat grinder or chop with a blender.
