Don't throw away any candied, fermented, or just boring jams - they are great for baking gingerbreads, muffins, or cookies. The jam will give the dough a pleasant rich taste - raspberry, cherry, strawberry or sea buckthorn. By varying the varieties of homemade products, you can try different baking options.

Home gingerbread

Try to make an original gingerbread with a pleasant honey taste. You don't need honey for baking - use fermented jam made from any berries or fruits. The finished product can be decorated with glaze, cream or sprinkled with icing sugar.

You will need:

- 0.5 cups of strongly brewed black tea;

- 0.5 cups of fermented jam;

- 1 egg;

- 0.5 cups of sugar;

- soda on the tip of a knife;

- 0.5 teaspoon of lemon juice;

- 2 cups wheat flour;

- 1 tablespoon of ground cinnamon.

Brew a strong tea, refrigerate it, and then mix with jam, sugar and egg. Beat everything well and add soda, slaked with lemon juice. Combine sifted wheat flour with ground cinnamon and add portionwise to the jam and tea mixture. Mix everything well. For convenience, you can use a blender.

Line a baking sheet with greased parchment paper. Gently pour the dough onto a baking sheet and place in the oven at 180 ° C. Bake the gingerbread until tender. You can check it by sticking a toothpick into the cake - there should be no traces of the dough on it. Transfer the gingerbread to a board, refrigerate and cut into small pieces. The surface can be sprinkled with powdered sugar.

The color of the baked goods depends on the type of jam. If you are using currant or chokeberry blanks, the dough will be dark. From sea buckthorn or rhubarb, you can make a light gingerbread.

Lazy pie

You can make a simple sour cream pie using old candied jam.

You will need:

- 1, 5 glasses of jam;

- 1 egg;

- 1 glass of milk;

- 1 cup of sugar;

- 2 teaspoons of baking soda;

- 3 cups wheat flour.

For the cream:

- 1 glass of thick sour cream:

- 0.75 glasses of sugar.

You can add candied fruit or finely grated lemon zest to the dough.

Pour the jam into a deep bowl, add the baking soda and stir until the mixture begins to foam. Beat the egg with sugar, then add it to the jam and pour in the milk. Whisk everything until smooth. Pour the sifted wheat flour into the mixture in portions.

Grease a baking dish and pour the dough into it. Place the cake in a preheated oven at 200C. Bake the product until tender. While the pie is cooking, make sour cream. Beat the thick sour cream with sugar until the crystals are completely dissolved.

Remove the cake from the mold and cool. Cover its surface with sour cream, let the dessert stand for a while, and then cut it into portions.
