Ingredients:

  • Medium-sized red fish - 1 piece;
  • Potatoes - 0.5 kg;
  • Onions - 3 pcs;
  • Carrots - 2 pcs;
  • Mayonnaise - 1 pack (200 g);
  • Salt and pepper to taste.

Preparation:

  1. Defrost red fish, if frozen, and rinse under running water. Remove fins and entrails, scrape off the scales from the carcass. Then cut along the ridge and remove the spine. Do the same with small bones, if they remain.
  2. Cut the fish fillet into slices about 3 centimeters wide. Rinse the potatoes under water and peel them, then cut into thin slices. Peel the onion and cut into rings or half rings. Carrots, like potatoes, wash and peel. Chop the peeled carrots on a coarse grater.
  3. Pour vegetable oil into a baking sheet with high sides and spread it all over the baking sheet. On the bottom, completely closing it, put a layer of potatoes and salt it a little. Put the fish fillets in a single layer on the potatoes and add chopped onions on top. Sprinkle the fish and onions on top with ground pepper to taste. A layer of grated carrots should be laid out on the fish, it should be about a centimeter thick.
  4. Pour the mayonnaise into a separate bowl from the jar and grate the cheese into it on a fine grater. Stir the mixture well. If desired, you can add garlic, passed through a press. Place this mixture on top of the carrots and spread over the entire baking sheet.
  5. Put the baking sheet with fish in the oven, preheated to 170 degrees, and bake until tender. If the fish is being prepared for a festive table, it can be cooked in separate small tins and served in them.
