Cabbage is a vegetable widely used in cooking. It is crushed into cabbage soup and borscht, added to stews and main courses, and even used as a filling for pies and pancakes. Cabbage with corn and peas is a dish that is suitable for vegetarians, fasting people and those who follow the figure.

It is necessary

  • - cabbage - 200 g;
  • - carrots - 1 pc;
  • - onion - 1 piece;
  • - frozen peas - 4-5 tbsp. l;
  • - frozen corn - 4-5 tbsp. l;
  • - tomato paste or sauce - 2 tbsp. l;
  • - garlic - 1-2 cloves;
  • - greens to taste.

Instructions

Step 1

We prepare the ingredients. Peel the carrots, garlic and onions and then chop them. Cut the carrots into strips, cut the onion into 1/4 rings, finely chop the garlic.

Pour sunflower oil into a deep frying pan or cauldron and set on a slow fire to warm up. Pour the prepared onions and carrots into a saucepan. While the vegetables are roasting, chop the cabbage into thin strips. When the carrot acquires a golden hue, pour the cabbage into the dish.

Mix the ingredients and leave to simmer for 7-10 minutes over low heat under a closed lid. When the cabbage is almost ready, add salt, pepper or any other seasoning. Add tomato sauce or pasta if desired.

We taste the dish, and then add the frozen peas and corn and leave to simmer for another five minutes. Finely chop the greens, pour into a saucepan and add chopped garlic. Turn off the stove and leave the dish to rise for 5-10 minutes, then lay out on plates and serve. Stewed cabbage can be used as an independent dish, or can be served with mashed potatoes.
