Everyone knows that with gastritis or stomach ulcers, you have to follow a strict diet. Is there an opportunity to enjoy delicious food, or, having received a diagnosis, will you have to give up your favorite dishes forever?
Gastritis, contrary to the opinion of many food lovers, is by no means a sentence. Of course, with such a disease, you will have to say goodbye to many products. However, despite the serious restrictions in food, even in this case, you can choose a tasty, and most importantly, wholesome diet, on which the most fastidious gourmet will not feel unhappy.
Do's and don'ts for gastritis
To begin with, a few nutritional rules for gastritis and stomach ulcers.
- With gastritis, you need to reduce to a minimum everything fried in oil or fat.
- Forget about eating highly peppery or spicy foods.
- The same applies to pickled, pickled, and simply acidic foods: their use affects a weakened stomach in the most negative way.
- You will also have to give up any food that is too fatty: fish baked in its own juice, pork, fatty salads. Even a traditional morning butter sandwich can be harmful, especially during a flare-up.
- Coffee is the mortal enemy of a sore stomach, so it is better to get used to the thought of parting with this drink in advance.
- All products that cause fermentation processes are unacceptable - buns, kvass.
- Unfortunately, you will have to forget about many sweets - first of all, about chocolate and halva.
- Send deep bowls and half-portion plates to the cupboard. In no case should you eat up to the dump. It is difficult for a sick stomach to cope with a large volume of work, therefore the optimal volume of a single serving is 250 - 300 grams, no more. This number includes both first and second courses. Get small salad bowls that won't hold more food if you want to.
- Train yourself to eat often, in fractional portions, ideally 6 to 8 times a day, every 3 hours. You do not need to endure the feeling of hunger: the stomach will not thank you for this.
These simple requirements must be met even when the disease does not make itself felt. Otherwise, the diet will have to be made much more rigid, and in addition to seriously be treated for the next exacerbation.
Diet menu: tasty and healthy
It should be said right away that such a diet is good at the stage of alleviating the disease. In case of remission, it is better to think not about gastronomic pleasure, but about your health. But when the attack is lifted, you can diversify your menu with tasty and safe treats.
With gastritis, you can eat everything steamed, baked in the oven, boiled, and even (subject to the refusal of vegetable oil) stew. So the choice of food is quite sufficient in order not to suffer from restrictions. Of course, you will have to forget about fried potatoes … But the same potatoes can be cooked in a variety of other ways.
Here are just a few diet lunch ideas:
- For breakfast, moderately sweet cereals with vegetables and fruits are ideal. You can make regular oatmeal by adding dried fruits, candied fruits, or raisins to them. Or make cold oatmeal in a jar with fresh fruit added. If you are not a fan of oatmeal, you can remember traditional Russian recipes: for example, about Guryev's semolina porridge with honey and fruits.
- Liquid and pureed soups are perfect as first courses, for example, the popular onion soup or cabbage soup made from fresh cabbage (but by no means from sour cabbage!). But remember - in no case should you add tomato or lemon soda to such dishes.
Second courses are even richer in this regard. It is not difficult to prepare diet food from the products permitted for gastritis; and most importantly, with a little imagination, these dishes will not only saturate the body, but also please with their exquisite taste.
- Chop the potatoes into thin wedges and place them in a baking sheet lined with foil. Place the second layer of finely chopped chicken breast. Pour the whipped egg and low-fat sour cream mixture over everything, and sprinkle with grated cheese on top. Then close the baking sheet tightly with another piece of foil and send it to the oven for 40 minutes.
- Make oven baked beef patties. For gastritis, they should be done without pepper and, if possible, slightly salted. A spoonful of sour cream placed on each cutlet will help to make the taste more saturated.
- The oven is also great for cooking fish. A particularly unusual taste can be obtained by baking fish pieces in foil with vegetables.
- An excellent second course will be a vegetable stew made from zucchini, potatoes, onions and other harmless products. The main condition is not to add vegetable oil to it. Vegetables give off enough liquid so that the dish languishes in the juice and does not burn.
- Quickly fry pieces of chicken or veal in a dry frying pan, then add salt, pour sour cream or kefir and, adding water, leave to simmer for 15 - 20 minutes under the lid. The delicate taste of this, at first glance, dish will pleasantly surprise you.
- For dessert, you can cook apples stuffed with honey and nuts, baked in the oven or just in a saucepan.
- Fans of sweet pastries can delight themselves with delicious pies. There are many recipes for pies, chicken pies, pies and biscuits that do not require yeast to make. For example, you can bake pies with fruit filling in the oven, make sweet manna or sour cream with apples.
This is just a small list of dishes with which you can and should please yourself with gastritis. The main thing is not to forget the conditions of cooking and eating. And, of course, use your own imagination to create new culinary masterpieces.
