On an industrial scale, for example, in the production of kozinaks, special machines are used to peel seeds. They are able to separate the nucleolus from the husk. Of course, the seeds must first be well dried, otherwise the cleaning process using a peeling machine will be very difficult.

The seeds are carefully removed from dirt and dust, otherwise all this can get on the cleaned nucleoli. Then all the seeds are poured into a special bunker, where they are kept for some time. Further, the seeds are sorted by size using a special device called a gate.

It is on this drum that the process of separating the seeds from the shell takes place. The cleaning process does not end there, because some nucleoli remain not completely cleaned. This is due to the fact that the seeds did not dry out well enough, or the shell was simply too tightly pressed against the kernel.

In addition, peeled seeds still need to be separated from debris. For this, other devices are used - a winnower and a cyclone. With their help, the peeled seeds are sifted into bags. The final stage of seed cleaning takes place using a special vibrating table. It is vibration that allows the smallest remnants of the husk to be separated from the kernels.

If we talk about the usual peeling of fried seeds, then they are peeled in different ways. It is noticed that many people, taking a seed, bite its corner with their front teeth, while squeezing the nucleolus right into their mouth with their own fingers. Other seed lovers, who monitor the state of their smile, clean the seeds exclusively with their hands. This is a longer method, but it is safe for the teeth.
