Having collected a good harvest of pears in their area, many decide to dry them. After all, thanks to this, it will be possible to prepare fruit for several winters in advance. At the same time, their useful properties will be fully preserved. But it is important to dry pears correctly.
It is necessary
- - pears;
- - knife;
- - cutting board;
- - sieve;
- - baking paper;
- - salt;
- - baking sheet;
- - capacity.
Instructions
Step 1
Choose sweet and sour pear varieties for drying. Be sure to iterate over them. Move rotten, bruised and wormy fruit aside. They are not suitable for drying. Place the selected pears in a container and fill with water. Leave them on for 10-15 minutes. Then wash each fruit thoroughly under running water.
Step 2
Start slicing the fruit. Remove the stalk first. Then cut each pear into 4 or 8 pieces (it all depends on how large the fruit is). Remove the seed nest from the lobules. This must be done carefully so as not to cut yourself and also to reduce the amount of waste.
Step 3
Make a saline solution. For every liter of water, add 30 g of salt. It is necessary that it dissolves well in the liquid. Place the chopped pears in the prepared solution. Soak them for 10-15 minutes. This procedure is necessary in order to avoid darkening of the slices and give them a more appetizing appearance. As a result, the finished product will have a higher quality.
Step 4
Take a sieve and pour the chopped pears onto it. Dip them in hot water for a few minutes. Then immediately immerse the wedges in the cold liquid. Balancing will make dried fruits softer and more delicious.
Step 5
Preheat oven to 80 ° C. Take a baking sheet, line baking paper on top of it, and place the pear pieces on top of it. It is necessary that only one layer was formed from them. Otherwise, you will not be able to dry the fruit with high quality. Place a baking sheet of pears in a preheated oven and wait until a crust forms on them. Then lower the temperature to 60 ° C and leave the fruits for 4-6 hours.
Step 6
Make sure the dried fruit is done. Remove one wedge from the oven and let cool slightly. Make a squeeze in your hand, a piece of pear should not exude juice. He himself must be elastic and soft. At the same time, it should not break, since this indicates the unreadiness of the pears. If the fruits are well dried, then you can take them out of the oven. Leave the wedges for 30-40 minutes. During this time, they will have time to cool down. Then you can put them in bags or jars.
