Khashlama is a traditional dish of Caucasian cuisine, it is prepared both in Armenia and Georgia. Lamb khashlama is being prepared. There are a lot of cooking options. But here is a classic recipe for this great dish.
It is necessary
- - lamb meat - 2 kg;
- - beer (any) - 0.5 l;
- - greens (cilantro, dill, basil) - 30 g;
- - onions - 1-2 pcs.;
- - sweet pepper - 1 pc.;
- - carrots - 1 pc.;
- - tomatoes - 2 pcs.;
- - potatoes - 0.5 kg;
- - salt - 2 tsp;
- - ground pepper - 1 tsp.
Instructions
Step 1
Cut the meat into small pieces. Salt, sprinkle with chopped herbs, pour 1 glass of beer and leave to marinate for 2-3 hours.
Step 2
While the meat is marinating, prepare the other ingredients.
Cut onions and carrots into rings, tomatoes and peppers into slices. Cut the potatoes into 2-3 pieces (depending on the size).
Step 3
Put in a saucepan or cauldron in layers: marinated meat, onions, carrots, peppers, tomatoes. Pour the remaining beer on top.
Step 4
We put the pan on the fire and bring to a boil. Then we reduce the heat, close the pan with a lid and simmer for 1 -1.5 hours.
Step 5
Add potatoes and simmer for another 30 minutes over low heat. Khashlama is ready!
Put meat and vegetables in portioned plates, sprinkle with chopped herbs on top.
