There is no need to give up your favorite foods during the fast. Chebureks can also be cooked in Lent, you just need to replace the meat filling with another one, for example, cabbage.

It is necessary

  • For the test:
  • - flour - 700-800 g;
  • - water - 500 ml;
  • - a pinch of salt;
  • - 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil.
  • For filling:
  • - cabbage - 300 g;
  • - onion - 1 pc.:
  • - carrots - 1 pc.;
  • - 0.5 teaspoon of turmeric;
  • - vegetable oil for frying.

Instructions

Step 1

To make the dough work, sift the flour together with salt beforehand. Thus, it will be saturated with oxygen and the baked goods will turn out to be very tasty and crispy. Boil water, pour 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil into it. Add flour, stirring constantly, and simmer until you have a shiny mass. Mix the dough thoroughly, knead, form a ball and put it in a plastic bag or wrap in plastic wrap. Leave to cool.

Step 2

Prepare the filling. Chop the cabbage thinly. Peel and finely chop the onion, peel and grate the carrots. Pour some vegetable oil into a saucepan, put onion and fry it until half cooked (onion should become transparent), add grated carrots, turmeric and fry everything together. Add the cabbage, cover the saucepan with a lid and simmer everything together until tender.

Step 3

Knead the dough, roll it out thinly and cut out circles of the same diameter. You can use a small plate or saucer as a template.

Step 4

Place 1 heaped tablespoon on one side of each flatbread. Cover with the second half of the dough and press to release all the air. Pinch the edges of the pasties.

Step 5

Heat the oil vigorously in a heavy-bottomed skillet and fry the pasties in it on both sides. Ready pasties should be golden brown and fried. Place them on a napkin to absorb the excess oil.
