The taste of the finished cheese is very pleasant, delicate, soft, moderately salty. This tasty and very healthy dish, unlike store cheeses, is completely devoid of preservatives and flavorings.
It is necessary
- 1 kg of cottage cheese (preferably homemade);
- 1 liter of milk;
- 100 g butter;
- 2 teaspoons of salt;
- 1 teaspoon of baking soda;
- You will also need: gauze and a container (1-2 liters), in which you can tamp the finished mass.
Instructions
Step 1
In a saucepan, mix milk with cottage cheese, put on low heat and cook for 15 minutes, stirring constantly.
Step 2
Remove the mixture from the heat and filter through 2 layers of gauze. Then we tie the corners of the gauze with a knot and hang it over a saucepan or sink so that the liquid flows down. When the cottage cheese cools down, squeeze it out completely.
Step 3
Melt the butter in an enamel bowl. Add salt and soda, quenched with vinegar. Then put the squeezed cottage cheese there and mix all the contents well.
Step 4
We put the mixture in a water bath and cook for 40 minutes over low heat. During cooking, it is imperative to stir the mass all the time.
Step 5
You can use an empty milk carton without a top, a small saucepan, or another convenient shape to tamp and shape the cheese. Put the hot mass in a mold, tamp it well, let it cool and refrigerate for 2 days. After that, the cheese is ready to eat.
