According to legend, the shape of the pretzel appeared thanks to the monks who wanted to thank the Almighty and baked an unusual bread resembling hands crossed in prayer. The name of this product came into Russian from German, the word "kringeln" literally translates as "bend, twist".

Step 1
Mash sugar with 150 g butter, add vanilla sugar and eggs and stir all ingredients until smooth. Add 3 tablespoons of cocoa, mix again.

Combine flour and baking powder bag, sift. Pour into the butter mixture and knead the dough. Knead until the dough stops sticking to your hands.

Roll from the dough into flagella with a diameter of about 0.5 cm. Cut into pieces 10 cm long each. Connect the ends of each strip in a pretzel shape.

Preheat oven to 180-190 degrees. Line a baking sheet with baking paper or brush with margarine. Place the pretzels and bake in the oven for 20 minutes. After that, put them on a dish and leave to cool completely.

While the pretzels are cooling, prepare the chocolate icing. melt the chocolate in a water bath. Grind the nuts in a blender or mortar. Pour chocolate over each pretzel, sprinkle with nut crumbs on top and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
