Faith in God requires compliance with certain church canons. Therefore, many believers adhere to Great Lent. But not everyone knows how to eat properly during this period. In addition, a stereotype has developed that lean dishes are tasteless and monotonous. This delusion should be recognized.

Step 1
If you do decide to fast, remember that the strictest are the first and last weeks of Lent. On these days, you can only eat bread and drink only water. Add only a little fresh vegetables and fruits.
Step 2
But if you first decided to join a lean diet, the above restriction will be too harsh for your body. Therefore, just eat the permitted lean meals. Vegetable oil is also prohibited during this period.
Step 3
Strict restrictions apply to Friday and Saturday before Easter. On these days, in memory of the suffering of Christ, it is advisable to completely starve.
Step 4
For the rest of the days of Lent, eat any food of plant origin. Please note that the finished products you buy in stores may contain some amount of animal products. For example, semi-finished pancakes with potatoes or mushrooms at first glance seem to you a lean dish. But take a closer look at the composition: you will surely find egg powder and milk there. True, now, many supermarket chains offer special products for the post that can be eaten during this period, for example, lean mayonnaise.
Step 5
Eliminate any meat from your diet or replace it with soy. If you like cutlets, make them with vegetables or mushrooms. Eat a little fish on the feast of the Annunciation and on Palm Sunday. Also give up dairy products, eggs, alcohol.
Step 6
If you have a sweet tooth, then use sugar, honey, dark bitter chocolate (no milk), dried fruits, frozen berries, marmalade during the fast.
Step 7
To relieve hunger, eat hot meals with plant-based proteins. These are beans, peas and lentils. Make soup with them. It will turn out to be very nutritious.
Step 8
Cook all meals without adding any animal fat. Boil or simmer foods instead.
Step 9
Cook porridge only in water. And to diversify the taste of cereals, add your favorite vegetables to them.
