Oolong tea is one of the most expensive and popular Chinese teas, standing between red and green teas. This tea contains a huge amount of nutrients. To feel the great taste of this drink, as well as to preserve all its useful properties, it is necessary to brew it correctly.
We will not delve into the positive properties of this extraordinary tea - the sellers of the tea shops have already done this for us. It is enough that oolong tea has many varieties, so we can safely say that it will answer the requests of even the most discerning gourmets.
Let's move on to brewing. To make tea not only tasty, but also useful, you need to follow several rules:
- It is necessary to brew oolong tea strictly in a sealed container made of clay or porcelain;
- 1 g of dry tea accounts for 25-30 ml of water;
- To preserve taste and useful properties, the brewing temperature should be 98 ° C;
- The first infusion should be drained after 10 seconds.
- It is necessary to infuse oolong tea for 30-45 seconds, ideally;
- Filling the same leaves, the brewing time should be increased by 5-15 seconds;
- The faster the tea infusion is drained, the more infusions can be made.
Interestingly, in China, it is customary to drink oolong from tiny cups, enjoying and savoring every sip. Following the example of the Chinese, we can conclude that it is better to brew oolong in small portions, with a high ratio of tea to water. The number of infusions will certainly depend on your own taste preferences, but it is recommended to brew oolong tea up to 6 times or more (depending on the variety), and each time the tea opens up with new flavor notes. Don't forget to enjoy the aroma of the tea first, then taste it.
