And black and shiny tea leaves are the best tea. The glitter of the tea leaves is given by the pectin film, which forms during the process of making and cooling the tea. The pectin film will protect the tea during long-term storage.

The tea leaves must be the same size. If there are a lot of broken leaves, debris or small twigs in the pack, this indicates the poor quality of the tea. Tea is considered fresh if it has been stored for less than a year. If more, the tea is already old.

It is very important that a certain moisture content is observed during quality storage. If the moisture content of the tea is high, the tea will spoil quickly. If it is low, the tea will lose its beneficial properties. There is an easy way to check the moisture content of your tea at home. Take a small handful of tea leaves and rub between your fingers. If the tea has turned to dust, it means that the tea is dry and has been stored for a long time. And if, when squeezing the tea leaves in a fist, a ringing crunch is heard, they spring well and practically do not break, which means that the humidity is normal. Such tea can be stored for a long time, it will not grow moldy and will not deteriorate for a long time.

When you open a packet of tea, smell the aroma coming from it. If the smell is fresh, tart and rich, it means that the tea was prepared according to the correct technology and preparation moisture. But the almost imperceptible smell indicates the low quality of the tea. If you smell moldy and musty, you shouldn't drink this tea at all.

Tasting is the most accurate and reliable method for determining the quality of tea. Quality tea should taste tart, strong and slightly astringent in the mouth. If the tea has just a bitter taste, there is no astringency - this indicates a low quality of the tea.
