Instructions
Step 1
Boil oranges until soft. Remove the crust. Grind the pulp in a blender, and pass the crust through a meat grinder. Transfer everything to a saucepan, pour 150 ml. water, add sugar and cook until thickened.
Step 2
Put the mixture in a deep bowl and, rubbing with a wooden spoon, gradually add one egg yolk and a spoonful of sugar until all the yolks and sugar are used up.
Step 3
Add well-beaten egg whites, flour, crackers and chopped almonds. Toss and place in a baking dish. Bake for 40 minutes in an oven preheated to 180 degrees.
Step 4
While the biscuit is baking, melt the butter and let it boil. Switch to low heat. Stir in flour and leave to heat for another 3-5 minutes.
Step 5
Boil the sugar and milk separately. Gradually add the milk to the butter, whisking the mixture. Remove from heat and let cool.
Step 6
Whisking, add the yolks and vanillin to the mass. Put the resulting cream in the refrigerator to harden for 20-30 minutes.
Step 7
Cut the sponge cake in two, coat the middle with cream. Apply a thick layer of cream to the top and sides of the sponge cake. Wait for the cream to absorb and apply a couple more layers. To top off, garnish the cake with strawberries and whipped cream.
