Cod liver is a canned semi-finished product that is mainly used for making sandwiches. However, with a little effort, you can prepare some original and delicious dishes.
Cod liver salad
You will need:
- cod liver - 1 can;
- potatoes - 3 pcs;
- carrots - 1 pc;
- cucumbers (fresh or pickled) - 2-3 pcs;
- large onion - 2 pcs;
- eggs - 3 pcs;
- mayonnaise;
- mustard - 1 tsp;
- vinegar 9% - 1 tbsp;
- sugar - 1 tsp;
- parsley.
Boil potatoes, carrots and eggs until tender. Cut the onion into half rings and fill it with marinade (for 0.5 tbsp water, 1 tbsp vinegar and 1 tsp sugar) for 5-10 minutes. Grate carrots, eggs and potatoes on a coarse grater into separate plates. Cut the cucumbers into thin strips. Mix mayonnaise with 1 tsp of mustard and mix thoroughly. Lay out the ingredients in a salad bowl: potatoes, onions, cucumbers, eggs. We coat each layer with mayonnaise. Cut the cod liver into arbitrary pieces, mix with grated carrots and form the last layer of lettuce, decorate with parsley sprigs.
Eggs stuffed with cod liver
You will need:
- boiled eggs - 7-8 pcs.;
- cod liver - 1 can;
- mayonnaise;
- parsley.
Cook eggs hard-boiled, cool and gently peel so as not to damage the protein. Cut off the top of the eggs and take out the yolk. Pour the caps cut from the eggs with strong infusion of black tea and boil for 3-5 minutes. Put the cod liver and yolks in a bowl, knead with a fork and mix thoroughly. Stuff the eggs with the resulting filling. We take out the tops from the tea leaves, cool and cover the stuffed eggs with them. It turns out mushrooms that are not only beautiful, but also very tasty. Decorate a clearing with mushrooms with parsley.
