Pumpkin is one of the few "versatile" vegetables that allows you to cook a huge number of dishes. Cooking pumpkin allows for roasting, stewing, marinating, and baking. You can cook from pumpkin not only delicious side dishes, healthy cereals, salads or pancakes, but also delicious, light sweet dishes.

Pumpkin with honey in the oven

Low-calorie, aromatic and easy-to-prepare dessert - oven-baked pumpkin. The washed pumpkin is cut into several pieces, the seeds are removed and cut into small slices. A baking sheet is greased with vegetable oil, pumpkin slices are placed on it and placed in an oven preheated to 180-200 degrees.

Roasting time will depend on the type of pumpkin and the power of the oven, but on average it usually takes about 30 minutes for the vegetable to become soft and flavorful. The finished pumpkin is removed from the oven, poured over with melted honey and sprinkled with nuts chopped in a blender. Non-heat treated honey retains all its beneficial qualities and enhances the properties of pumpkin and nuts.

Another option is known, when pumpkin slices, laid in a heat-resistant dish, are baked for about 20 minutes, then taken out of the oven, poured with honey mixed with grated orange zest and squeezed orange juice, sprinkled with cinnamon and baked for another 12-15 minutes. But in this case, the beneficial properties of honey may be lost, only its characteristic sweet taste will remain.

A pumpkin baked in the microwave cooks a little faster than in the oven, but this does not make it less tasty. To prepare dessert, you need to peel the vegetable and cut it into slices, then put it in a special dish for the microwave oven and lightly sprinkle with lemon juice. The dessert is cooked at full power for 20 minutes - until the wedges are tender. Sprinkle the finished dish with cinnamon and pour over with liquid honey.

Small vegetables can be baked without using special dishes - put a little butter, a couple of teaspoons of sugar, a pinch of cinnamon, soaked raisins in a half of a pumpkin, peeled and a soft layer with seeds, and add 2-3 tablespoons of water. Dessert is cooked for half an hour, poured with honey before serving.

A multicooker mold is greased with a small amount of butter or vegetable oil, the pumpkin slices are carefully placed in it, peel down. Half a glass of water is added to the container and the baking mode is turned on for 30 minutes. The finished slices are removed from the mold and smeared with honey.

Another option for cooking pumpkin involves using the stewing mode: peeled pumpkin and apple slices are mixed with a handful of raisins, sprinkled with lemon juice and cooked for 35-40 minutes. Sprinkle the finished dish with honey and sprinkle with ground nuts or toasted sesame seeds.
