It is necessary

    • For the first recipe:
    • 600 g pork;
    • 1 onion;
    • 2 medium apples;
    • 2 tbsp flour;
    • 3-4 tablespoons apple cider;
    • vegetable oil;
    • salt and pepper.
    • For the second recipe:
    • 500 g pork;
    • 1 onion;
    • 2 apples;
    • 1/4 tbsp. calvados;
    • vegetable oil;
    • salt and pepper;
    • grain mustard and peanuts (optional);
    • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon (optional).

Instructions

Step 1

Take a piece of pork, such as a neck. Cut off excess fat. Grind the meat into cubes with a side of 1-1.5 cm. Dip in flour. Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan and fry the meat in it for 7-10 minutes, until half cooked. Cut the onion into rings, add to the pan. Peel the apples, remove the hard core, cut into the same cubes as the meat. Transfer to a skillet and season with salt and pepper. Black pepper can be substituted for hot red pepper for spiciness, or paprika if you want to accentuate the sweetish taste of apples.

Step 2

Cover the mixture with a lid, reduce heat, and cook for another 15 minutes. Also, if available, you can pour 3-4 tbsp. apple cider. It will add an additional flavor to the dish. Serve with a neutral flavor. Mashed potatoes or carrots with the addition of cream, boiled green beans are suitable. The combination of pork with boiled cauliflower will also be very tasty.

Step 3

Try a different way to cook pork. To do this, cut the meat into slices no more than 1.5 cm thick. Beat them with a wooden mallet. Heat oil in a skillet and fry the pork for 5 minutes on each side. Season with salt and pepper while cooking. Set aside the meat in a bowl.

Step 4

Peel the onion and cut into small cubes. Place the onions in the skillet where the meat was cooked and, stirring occasionally, fry until golden brown. Peel the apples and cut into thin slices. Pour them over the onion and cook together for another 5-7 minutes. The apples should be golden and soft. Place the pieces of pork in a skillet, pour the Calvados over them, add salt and pepper. Simmer the meat for another 7 minutes. Put the cooked pork on a platter or serving plates and sprinkle with ground peanuts. Serve cooked grain mustard with grilled meat as an additional sauce.
