No matter how exotic and expensive dishes appear on our table, whole baked chicken is still considered a festive, delicious dish. It is necessary

    • 1 chicken
    • chicken giblets (hearts
    • liver
    • stomachs)
    • 1-2 heads of garlic
    • parsley (optional)
    • salt
    • pepper to taste
    • 150 ml olive oil
    • 250 g white bread

Instructions

Step 1

It is best, of course, to take steamed chicken - fresh meat will be softer and more useful. However, it's okay if the chicken is frozen. Have you looked into your fridge freezer and thought of a delicious chicken that smells like garlic and is topped with a crispy crust? Then - put the carcass to defrost. In the meantime, get down to preparing the filling.

Step 2

Take the giblets that were inside the chicken, or maybe you bought them in advance? Then there will be more filling. Rinse them well. Fold the cooked offal and softened bread crumb into the blender bowl (perhaps you use warm milk or boiled water for this purpose). Peel a few cloves of garlic and add them to the future filling. Some housewives add finely chopped greens to the filling. Focus on your taste, but, as a rule, in this case they use parsley or a little thyme. Grind all ingredients into a homogeneous mass. Now you need to salt and pepper your filling to your liking. Add some olive oil to it and stir everything. You should have a filling that is convenient to mix and form a ball, like from dough.

Step 3

Put the filling in the prepared chicken. The hole can be punctured with small cooking skewers or toothpicks. If they are not at hand, you can use the grandmother's method - take a coarse thread and a large needle and simply sew up your chicken. Insert the ends of the wings into small cuts on the carcass, tie the legs.

Step 4

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees. While the oven is preheating, coat the chicken with olive oil. For aroma and pungency, squeeze a couple of garlic cloves into a bowl of olive oil for an even more delicious crust. Salt and pepper can be added to the coating mixture, or you can add salt and pepper to the carcass while frying.

Your chicken with garlic and giblets will be baked for about an hour. To check the readiness, pierce the chicken with a sharp, thin stick. You can make a puncture with a fork or knife. If pinkish juice flows out of the puncture - the chicken is not ready yet, leave it to bake for a while.

Step 5

Remove the threads and skewers from the finished chicken. Serve the chicken with garlic and giblets on a large warm dish. Boiled potatoes or vegetable salad are ideal as a side dish. By the way, if you boil a potato and lay it around the chicken on a baking sheet a few minutes before the poultry is ready, then the potato slices will be saturated with an amazingly aromatic chicken smell.
