Iskander kebab is a Turkish dish. Iskander is a Turkic nickname for Alexander the Great, and kebab means fried meat. A very satisfying, tasty and unusual dish. Iskander kebab is similar to shawarma.

- - 600 g lamb
- - 2 pcs. tomato
- - 1 bell pepper
- - 1, 5 Art. l. tomato paste
- - 1 tbsp. l. butter
- - vegetable oil
- - 1 glass of natural unsweetened yogurt or sour cream
- - 1 tsp. thyme
- - salt, pepper to taste
- - 2 cups of flour
- - 1 pack of yeast
- - 0.5 tsp red hot pepper
Instructions
Step 1
Prepare the dough: put flour in a bowl, add yeast, salt to taste. Gradually pour in warm water, knead a soft dough and place in a warm place for 35-45 minutes.
Step 2
Roll out the dough, place on a baking sheet and place in an oven preheated to 180 degrees. And bake for 15-20 minutes.
Step 3
Wash the lamb and cut into thin slices. Heat oil in a skillet, fry the meat until tender, salt and pepper.
Step 4
Cut the finished cake into small pieces, put on plates, put a couple of tablespoons of yogurt on top.
Step 5
Remove the skins from the tomatoes. Finely chop the bell pepper, simmer in a separate frying pan until soft for 10-15 minutes, salt.
Step 6
Prepare the sauce: in a skillet, combine the tomato paste, thyme, butter, salt, red and black pepper, add a little water and, stirring occasionally, heat over low heat until a homogeneous medium thick sauce is formed.
Step 7
Layer the meat and vegetables in a plate on top of the yogurt flatbread, pour over the sauce and serve.
