Many people like carrot cake, which can be served both as a sweet dish and as a main one. How do you prepare these delicious pastries?

- 3 3/4 cups flour
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 100 grams of margarine or butter
- 4 eggs
- 3/4 cup orange juice
- 3/4 cup maple syrup
- 3 cups grated carrots (about 600-700 grams)
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ginger
- 1 teaspoon cardamom
- a pinch of ground cloves
- 1-2 cups pecans, chopped
Instructions
Step 1
To start making carrot cake, you need to chop the carrots. If you have a food processor, this will be done very quickly. Peel the carrots and trim the ends, then chop them in a food processor or grate by hand.
Step 2
Combine dry ingredients and rub in butter. Add flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, and spices to a large bowl. Cut the cold butter / margarine into cubes and crush. You can use a fork or a cookie cutter - whatever you have on hand. You have to mix everything together until it gets a grainy consistency, otherwise the carrot cake, the recipe for which is outlined here, will not work out well.
Step 3
Add eggs, orange juice, and maple syrup to the dough. Stir until all ingredients are very well mixed.
Step 4
Mix the resulting mixture with the carrots - make sure that all the ingredients that make up the carrot cake are evenly distributed.
Step 5
Once everything is done, cover the baking sheet with parchment paper and place the dough on top of it. Spread it evenly and place in the oven, bake at 180 degrees for 50-60 minutes.
Step 6
After a toothpick inserted in the center comes out dry, your simple carrot pie is ready. Let it cool for at least half an hour or so.
