Who is not familiar with such a festive dish as "herring under a fur coat"? In addition to the familiar salads based on salted herring, you can cook a lot of interesting dishes.

Step 1
Herring oil
Herring oil is made very simply from salted herring and butter. The herring should be pitted, cut into small pieces or rolled through a meat grinder. The proportion of herring and oil is 1: 1.
Used for making sandwiches. For cooking, you can use too salty herring, which cannot be eaten just like that.
Step 2
Salad with cheese and apples
1. Large salted herring, 1 piece or two small, peel and cut into squares.
2. Cut 200 g of rye bread into small cubes, fry thoroughly in vegetable oil.
3. Onion, 1 good onion, finely chop.
4. Grate one apple.
5. Put all ingredients together, mix, season with mayonnaise.
Step 3
Herring under the covers
1. Cut one large onion into medium half rings and fry with the addition of tomato paste in vegetable oil.
2. Boil 2-3 medium carrots, chop with a grater.
3.2-3 pcs. boil potatoes, peel, cut into squares.
4. Peel 1 large herring and cut into small wedges.
5. We spread our salad in layers on a beautiful dish:
- the first layer is potatoes, - then the second layer - herring, - the third layer - fried onions, - the fourth layer is carrots.
Cover the salad with mayonnaise on top. Decorate with tangerine slices or pomegranate seeds. Or both at once.
Step 4
With beets and avocado
1. Boil and peel one medium beetroot, cut into strips.
2. Peel one large herring, cut into medium pieces with a knife.
3. Chop one medium-sized onion.
4. Avocado, 1 pc., Cut into even cubes.
5. Thoroughly mix all ingredients of the dish. Add mayonnaise, black pepper to taste. Decorate with fresh dill and parsley sprigs.
Step 5
With pineapples
1. Lightly salted herring, 2 pcs., Gently peel and cut.
2. Boil one medium carrot and cut into cubes.
3. You will need one can of canned pineapples. We remove pineapples from the jar, cut them into smaller cubes, 10x10 mm. A few rings can be left to decorate the salad.
4. One can of canned corn.
5. Mix all the products prepared in this way. Then fill the salad with mayonnaise. Decorate with cut pineapple rings.
