The Bonn soup diet is one of the most popular, and this is not surprising: the effectiveness is high, satiety is guaranteed. You can eat this soup as much as you like. The recipe is extremely simple, the ingredients are inexpensive and can vary. Well, the soup tastes great!
Bonn soup is usually cooked in large pots: 2-3 liters each, and sometimes a whole five liters. The fact is that during the diet, this soup can not only be eaten at any time when you want, but also needed! The more you eat, the better. The secret of Bonn soup is that it is not just low in calories - its calorie content is negative. More precisely, 100 g of Bonn soup contains 27 kcal, but the body spends more calories to digest this vegetable soup than it receives from the breakdown of foods.
For a classic Bonn soup, practically free of fat, you will need (based on 1.5-2 liters of water):
- a small head of cabbage - 1 pc. (half of a large head of cabbage);
- celery - ½ root or 1 bunch (if you take the stems);
- tomatoes - 3-5 pcs.;
- onions - 6 pcs.;
- carrots - 2-3 pcs.;
- green or white pepper - 2 pcs.;
- greens (onion, cilantro, parsley) - 1 bunch.
The main ingredients of Bonn soup are cabbage and celery. A number of nutritionists also insist on the obligatory nature of onions and tomatoes. The rest is optional. You can also add cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, broccoli.
Bonn soup cooks in 1520 minutes, depending on how quickly you cut the vegetables.
So, first you need to wash and peel the vegetables, cut them in the usual way (cubes, strips).
Put a pot of water on the stove and bring to a boil.
Place vegetables in a saucepan and cook over low heat until softened - about 10 minutes. If you add carrots, add them first, and 10 minutes later add the rest of the vegetables. The cooking time will increase accordingly.
Add chopped greens, turn off the heat.
Let the Bonn soup simmer, covered, for 20-30 minutes.
The soup can be slightly salted, but already on the plate.
Thanks to celery, Bonn soup has a pronounced diuretic effect. You can use both the stems and the root. If you want, put both of that, and another - just take a quarter instead of half of the root.
There is also another version of the Bonn soup - with the use of olive oil. This option allows you to introduce a small amount of healthy fats into your diet.
The ingredients in this recipe are the same as in the classic one, only add 2-3 tablespoons of olive oil. Saute onions cut into cubes or rings on them. Add this sauté sauce to the soup.
There is also a recipe in which Bonn soup becomes a roast rather than a dressing one. In other words, the onion is sautéed at the bottom of the pan, then a little water is added to it, vegetables are added, all this is stewed for about five minutes. Then add water (boiled!) And cook for another five minutes.
You can also add spices to Bonn soup: cumin, coriander, bay leaf, curry, chili, cayenne, black and allspice. It goes very well with the ingredients of the Bonn soup ginger, which, by the way, also contributes to weight loss.
Naturally, the taste of the soup improves when the onions are browned. If you can't eat boiled onions at all, use this Bonn soup recipe.
Soy sauce will also help improve the taste of Bonn soup. Add a tablespoon - and the taste of the dish will become richer, although the calorie content will hardly increase. The soy sauce also keeps the soup from salting on the plate.
The most important thing is not to put any potatoes or legumes in your Bonn soup! It is also better not to put red bell peppers - take green or white ones.
