Avocado is an amazing fruit. We have been constantly hearing about its benefits lately, and it still enters our diet. If you have not tried it yet, we strongly recommend that you do it at least once.
Why avocados are good for you
Avocado contains many useful substances, including saturated fatty acids, provitamin A, tocopherol, vitamins D, PP, C, some vitamins of group B. In combination with a complex of trace elements, this fruit has a unique effect on the body.
If you look at the mineral composition, then you will probably change your attitude towards pharmaceutical mineral complexes and simply replace them with one fruit. Judge for yourself:
- potassium,
- sodium,
- calcium,
- magnesium,
- phosphorus,
- manganese.
And that is not all!
The fatty acids found in avocados have a positive effect on the functioning of the cardiovascular system and lower cholesterol levels. The same acids accelerate metabolism and normalize blood sugar levels, which means they contribute to weight loss. Despite the fact that avocado is quite high in calories (about 250 kcal per 100 grams), it is considered a dietary fruit. The fact is that avocados contain L-carnitine, which is known as a fat burner and metabolic booster.
The potassium found in avocados helps fight swelling, which is also very important when losing weight. Also, this element is famous for helping us to cope with various stressful situations.
How to use avocado
Avocado can be used in a variety of recipes. If you decide to introduce this fruit into your diet, then you will probably be interested to know how you can use it in cooking.
It is very easy to make avocado and garlic pate - it can be used as a separate dish or as an original sauce. Peel and chop two avocados, add peeled garlic (in the original recipe there are 5 heads, but you can take less - to taste), a couple of teaspoons of olive oil and the same amount of lemon juice, fresh basil, seasonings to taste. Finely chop the herbs and garlic, pour everything into a blender bowl and carefully purée.
Avocados are great for a healthy and satisfying snack. Peel one fruit, cut into small cubes, pass the garlic through a press, chop the greens. Cut the tomato into small pieces. Mix olive oil with lemon juice, mix with vegetables and avocado. The mixture goes well with crispbread and yeast-free bread.
Avocado is also used in home cosmetology. You just need to knead the pulp with a fork and apply the pulp on your face or hair, and you will appreciate the amazing effect of a simple mask. You can use the avocado pulp as a base and add your favorite ingredients like burdock oil for hair or oatmeal for your face.
