Cooking them is simple and quick, which will appeal to many housewives. To prepare this dish, you will not need any expensive products. Chances are, all of the ingredients are in your refrigerator. If something is missing, you can replace it with other products of your choice.
To prepare Serbian croutons you will need
- loaf or white bread - 400 grams
- chicken eggs - 3 pieces
- cheese "Brynza" - 40 grams
- salt to taste
- pepper - to taste
Step-by-step process of making Serbian croutons
Stage 1 - take a loaf (you can also use white bread) and cut it into pieces of medium thickness.
Stage 2 - break the eggs into a deep container, add salt and pepper. Shake everything well with a fork to get a homogeneous, slightly foaming mass.
Stage 3 - dip each slice of loaf into the egg mixture (it is desirable that the bread is soaked with egg on both sides).
Stage 4 - put in a frying pan with hot oil for a few seconds or fry on both sides.
Stage 5 - put the fried loaf slices on a plate. Before serving - add lettuce and feta cheese. You can also serve bacon and scrambled eggs with croutons.
