Serbian bread "Pogacice" is quite interesting, but very easy to prepare baked goods. I offer you a classic recipe for this dish, but you can change it at your discretion, for example, replace butter with cheese or cottage cheese. In other words, don't be afraid to experiment!

It is necessary

  • - flour - 3.5 cups;
  • - milk - 250 ml;
  • - butter - 100 g;
  • - dry yeast - 11 g;
  • - sugar - 1 teaspoon;
  • - salt - 0.5 teaspoon.

Instructions

Step 1

First of all, heat the milk, but not much, but only to a warm state, that is, to about 35 degrees. Then pour dry yeast into it along with the following ingredients: granulated sugar, 0.5 cups of wheat flour and salt. Mix everything properly. Heat the dough for about 30 minutes. This is necessary for its fermentation.

Step 2

When a "cap" foam forms on the dough, add the remaining 3 cups of wheat flour into it. Turn the formed mass into a homogeneous mass, and then knead it well. You should end up with a slightly tough dough.

Step 3

Divide the dough into 11 or 12 equal parts. Form each of them into spherical shapes. After placing them on a flat dish, cover with a tea towel and set aside in a warm enough place for about half an hour.

Step 4

After the time has elapsed, roll out the dough balls with a rolling pin or knead with your hands into cakes, the diameter of which is 10-12 centimeters.

Step 5

Thoroughly dip the cakes obtained from the dough in the butter previously melted in a water bath.

Step 6

Put butter cakes in a baking dish in a circle so that the edge of one goes over the edge of the other, that is, overlap, thereby leaving no free space. Sprinkle the future bread with sesame seeds, then cover it with a kitchen towel and put it in the heat for 60 minutes.

Step 7

Send the dough doubled in volume to bake in the oven, the temperature of which is approximately 190-200 degrees, for half an hour. Serbian bread "Pogacice" is ready!
