Farfl is a Jewish dish that is a filler for soups and broths, essentially pasta. It is very similar to the Ukrainian mess. Farfl can be made from both flour and semolina.
It is necessary
- - flour - 200 g;
- - egg - 2 pcs.;
- - salt - a pinch (optional);
- - 0, 5 tbsp. flour additionally.
Instructions
Step 1
For the preparation of farfl, flour from durum wheat is more desirable, but ordinary wheat of the highest grade is also suitable. Mix it with chicken eggs, lightly beaten with a pinch of salt. Knead a very tough dough. You can not leave it for a while, have a rest, but start forming a farfl right away.
Step 2
In order to form the farfl, you need a coarse grater. The most common one, on which carrots are chopped for soup. The flour, which was taken additionally, about half a glass, is poured into a bowl or plate. For convenience, the dough can be divided into several small parts, because from habit it is easy to cut your hand with a grater.
Step 3
Take a small piece of dough, dip in flour, grate, dipping as often as possible. The result is pieces that are smaller than a pea. When all the dough is finished, take a sieve, put in the farfl and sift to remove excess flour.
Step 4
Turn the oven on to minimum heat. Spread the farfl on a baking sheet in one layer and dry for about 1 - 1, 5 hours. Cool the finished farfl and put it in a glass jar, where the pasta can be stored for quite a long time. Cover the jar with a lid.
