It is baked in the oven and acts as a kind of pot, which is quite edible.

It is necessary

    • For pumpkin with rice and apples:
    • ripe pumpkin;
    • a glass of rice;
    • 200 g pitted prunes;
    • 2 apples;
    • 100 g raisins;
    • 5 g of vegetable oil;
    • 5 g ground cinnamon;
    • 30 g sugar;
    • 50 g butter.
    • For pumpkin with meat:
    • pumpkin;
    • 400 g of meat from chicken thighs;
    • 20 g sour cream;
    • 10 g butter;
    • salt and ground pepper.

Step 1

Rinse the pumpkin under running water, it is best to rub it with a brush. The pumpkin should be well-rounded and firm, firm and fleshy. It is advisable to choose a vegetable with red pulp for this dish. Carefully cut off the top of it - it will serve as a lid. Scrub the pumpkin seed pulp. It is very convenient to do this with an ice cream spoon. The wall thickness of the pumpkin should not be less than two centimeters.

Rinse the rice in cold water until clear. The more thoroughly you rinse this cereal, the more crumbly the filling will be. Basmati rice is more suitable for stuffing pumpkin. It has a pleasant aroma and sticks less during cooking. Boil it until half cooked, discard in a colander and rinse in cold water. Transfer to a separate plate.

Peel the apples, cut them into quarters, remove the seeds and cut into small wedges. Soak raisins and prunes in warm water for half an hour.

Add sugar, chopped apples, raisins, prunes, cinnamon and butter to the rice. Mix everything and fill the prepared pumpkin with this mass. Cover the vegetable with a "lid", brush it with vegetable oil and place in an oven heated to 180 degrees. Stuffed pumpkin should be baked for at least 1.5 hours, the cooking time depends on the size of the vegetable. The finished pumpkin is easily pierced with a toothpick and looks ruddy. Serve hot.

Try meat-stuffed pumpkin. To do this, wash the pumpkin, cut off the top of it and remove the pulp with seeds.

Cut the meat off the chicken thighs and chop it into small pieces. Transfer them to a plate and season with ground pepper and salt. Grate the pumpkin pulp and mix it with the meat. For more juiciness and tenderness of the filling, you can add sour cream to it.

Step 7

Fill the pumpkin with the meat filling. Place it in a deep dish and cover with the cut crown, and on top place a few small pieces of butter. Pour some water into the mold, its level should be at least two centimeters. Bake the stuffed pumpkin for an hour at 180 degrees. Cut the finished vegetable into pieces and serve.
