Shawarma is an amazing oriental dish based on fried meat. Of course, buying it in simple stalls is risky, but that doesn't mean that you don't need to eat it at all? Right? I suggest you make shawarma at home with tzatziki sauce.

- - lettuce - 2 pots;
- - pita - 4 pcs;
- - lamb fillet - 600 g;
- - red onion - 1 pc;
- - cherry tomatoes - 150 g;
- - salad cucumber - 1 pc;
- - garlic - 1 clove;
- - natural yogurt - 150 g;
- - olive oil - 2 tablespoons;
- - lemon juice - 2 teaspoons;
- - salt;
- - pepper.
Instructions
Step 1
First you need to prepare the tzatziki sauce. Peel the cucumber and cut it in 2 halves. Cut out the seeds from one of the halves and cut the rest. Combine the following ingredients: crushed garlic, chopped cucumber, yogurt, and lemon juice. Do not forget to season this mixture with salt and pepper. Mix everything thoroughly and put the bowl with the sauce in the refrigerator.
Step 2
Wash the meat, dry it, then cut it into thin slices. Pepper the pieces of lamb, salt and grill on both sides until a brown crust forms, that is, at least 6-8 minutes.
Step 3
After the fried meat has cooled down, it is necessary to cut it into small pieces and not along the fibers, but across.
Step 4
Cut the vegetables as follows: onions - into rings, tomatoes - exactly in half, and the remaining half of the cucumber - into slices.
Step 5
Lettuce leaves do not need to be cut. You just need to tear them into large pieces with your hands. Combine them with chopped vegetables and drizzle with lemon juice and olive oil.
Step 6
Place all 4 pits on the grill and fry them until golden brown. Then, in each of them, make a kind of pocket in which you need to put lettuce leaves, chopped vegetables and meat. Homemade shawarma with tzatziki sauce is ready!
