    • 3/4 cup rice
    • 1 egg;
    • 50 g butter;

Step 1

A classic of the genre is a yeast dough pie. Combine warm milk, dry yeast, loose egg, vegetable oil, sugar and salt. Pour flour into the mass and knead the dough. Collect it in a lump, cover it with a towel and put it in a warm place for an hour and a half. During this time, the volume of the dough should double.

Prepare the filling. Rinse the rice, put it in a saucepan, cover with two glasses of water, add salt and cook until tender. Drain the water, cool the boiled rice. Chop the onions finely and fry them in hot vegetable oil until golden brown. Drain the liquid from a can of canned pink salmon in its own juice, break the fish into pieces, removing the bones.

In a deep bowl, combine fish, onion and rice until smooth. Add salt and ground black pepper. On a board sprinkled with flour, roll out half of the dough that has come up. Grease a baking sheet with oil and place the rolled layer on it. Spread the filling over an even layer, stepping back from the edges by 1.5 cm, roll out the remaining dough and cover the cake with it, carefully pinching the edges. Make a small hole in the middle.

Remove it from the oven, place it on a wooden board and brush the hot crust with butter. Cover the cake with a towel and let it rest and cool. Cut into wedges and serve warm or cold.

To speed up the baking process, use ready-made puff pastry. Defrost it, roll it into a thin layer, lay out the filling, cover with a second rolled layer. Remember to punch a hole in the center of the cake and brush the surface with a beaten egg to create a golden brown crust. Puff pastry is baked for 30-40 minutes and served lukewarm.
