Everyone knows the time-tested "Herring under a fur coat" salad. But there are many other recipes for herring salads that turn out to be no less "elegant". The taste of the salad largely depends on what kind of herring you use: spicy salted, pickled or lightly salted. The most important thing is to cleanse it well of bones so that they do not overshadow the process of eating a delicious salad.
Herring vegetable salad
Ingredients:
- 1 salted herring;
- 2 potatoes;
- 1 carrot, 1 beet, egg;
- 250 ml mayonnaise;
- 0, 5 bunch of parsley and dill.
Peel the herring, separate the fillets, cut into small pieces. Put the fish in an even layer in a herring pot, brush with mayonnaise. Boil vegetables and an egg, peel. Cut the potatoes into cubes, grate the carrots and beets on a large grater. Lay a layer of potatoes on the herring, brush with mayonnaise. Put the carrots on the potatoes, grease with mayonnaise again, put the beets, grease with mayonnaise. Cut the egg into slices and place on top of the salad. Sprinkle the prepared salad with parsley and dill.
Mushroom salad with herring

- 100 g of pickled mushrooms;
- 100 ml of mayonnaise;
